We all know it, we all remember taking that ride into seeing the whole world in one attraction. But little do people realize that the song, and the attraction itself have a much deeper meaning than just singing dolls. I remember hearing in an interview with the son of one of the Sherman Brothers (the wonderful men who composed the song ) that there was a lyric that was written, but never made it into the final song (for obvious reasons). The lyric would have went "There's so much that we share, that it's time we're aware, it's a small world after all. So let's not blow it up."
Coming from men who had been through possibly the worst of times we can ever endure, that particular line can mean the world to anyone.
